Some pain is obvious. Other pain happens quietly. People may see you functioning and assume you are fine. They may not know how much courage it took for you to get out of bed, walk into the room, answer the phone, go back to work, or simply make it through another day. But God knows. He sees what nobody else sees. He saw the tears you wiped away before anyone noticed. He heard the prayer you could barely finish.
He knows the questions you have been afraid to ask. He knows exactly what was lost, what was broken, and what still aches. And Psalm 34:18 gives us a beautiful promise: God comes close. Notice what Scripture does not say. It does not say God is disappointed with the brokenhearted. It does not say God avoids the brokenhearted. It says He is close to them. Your broken place is not a place God avoids. It is a place He enters.
So today, stop believing that you have to become stronger before God can use you again. Stop believing your pain has disqualified you from purpose. Stop believing this broken season is the end of your story. God is close. And when God comes close, healing can begin. You may be brokenhearted today, but you are never broken beyond God’s reach. Hurt doesn’t win when God is still writing the story.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
Lord,
Thank You for seeing me completely. Thank You for seeing the pain I talk about and the pain I keep hidden. When I feel forgotten, remind me that You see me. When I feel alone, remind me that You are close. When I feel broken, remind me that broken does not mean finished. Come close to me today. Touch the places in my heart that need Your healing, restore my hope, and give me courage to believe that You are still writing my story.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
