Welcome HOPErs!

Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.

With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

🕊️When Faith Feels Thin

You do not always need more faith. Sometimes you just need borrowed faith.
Faith is not a measure of how strong you feel; it is a reflection of Who you are trusting. There are moments when your prayers feel heavy and your hope feels worn thin. That is when community, memory, and grace step in. God never asked us to carry faith alone.

This reflection reminds us that faith does not have to be loud to be real. A whisper still reaches heaven. Borrow faith from those who believe when you cannot. Borrow it from your own history with God, remembering the mountains that once moved when you thought they never would. Thin faith still counts, because it rests in a faithful God.

There are days when strength runs out and words do not come easily. Those are the moments when God invites us to rest in borrowed faith. The father in Mark 9 prayed, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” His honesty did not disqualify him. It drew Jesus closer.

Faith grows in community. When your belief feels fragile, lean on someone else’s. Call a friend who can pray with you or remind you of God’s promises. Sometimes victory comes not from shouting but from standing together in quiet agreement that God is still working.

Borrow faith from your past too. Remember the prayers God answered, the strength He provided, and the peace that carried you through. Thin faith still moves mountains because God never measures volume—He measures trust. Every whisper of “help me believe” is enough to move His heart.

Faith is not about perfection; it is about persistence. Keep showing up, keep praying, keep trusting that even the smallest flicker of belief is bright enough for God to see.
