Welcome HOPErs!
Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.
With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

Gratitude does not deny reality. Gratitude reframes it in the light of God’s faithfulness. It gives us a different way to see what we are walking through, especially when life feels shadowed or stretched thin.
True gratitude often grows in places where answers are delayed, resources feel limited, and hope feels tired. It is not forced positivity. It is quiet confidence. It is the heart’s way of whispering, “God, I trust You even here.”
Gratitude does not erase pain. It simply keeps pain from defining us. It clears just enough space in the soul for peace to settle in. It guards the heart from bitterness that tries to take root during long seasons of waiting.
And slowly, gently, gratitude reminds us that God is working in ways we cannot yet see. Darkness may surround us, but it is never the end of the story.
Scripture calls us into this deeper posture.
“Give thanks in all circumstances.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
Not for all circumstances, but in them, because God is present and faithful even when our path is dim.
Father, teach me gratitude that rises from trust, not comfort. Help me recognize Your presence in places that feel uncertain. Give me eyes to see Your goodness and courage to believe You are moving, even in the dark.
Write down three things you are grateful for in this waiting season. Not because everything is easy, but because God is still faithful.
