Welcome to Our Blog
Welcome HOPErs!
Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.
With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville
Founder, While You Wait Ministries

This May is that kind of season.
We are stepping into a new theme together, Cover and Care. Not just as a message, but as a way of walking with God through what still needs healing, what still deserves honor, and what still needs strength.
This isn’t just about Mother’s Day.
It’s about the deeper places in us that carry both gratitude and grief.
This message wasn’t meant to be rushed.
If you have a few quiet minutes, press play and let it meet you where you are.
Many of us have learned how to be strong. We show up. We carry what needs to be carried. We keep going. But strength, by itself, can become heavy when it never has a place to rest.
This month, we are not choosing between strength and softness. We are allowing God to meet us in both. Because healing does not happen when we perform.
It happens when we are honest.
There are places in your story that may still feel exposed.
Moments that shaped you.
Words that stayed with you.
Gaps where something should have been, but wasn’t.
This month is an invitation to stop rushing past those places.
To let God cover what still hurts.
Not to erase it, but to hold it with care.
There is a kind of covering that does not silence your story.
It protects it while it heals.
Care is different than fixing.
Care is patient.
Care listens.
Care stays.
And sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is allow yourself to be cared for by God in ways you may not have experienced before.
Especially in the places that feel empty.
Because God is not distant from those spaces.
He meets you there.
This month, we are learning a new rhythm.
You can be soft without falling apart.
You can be strong without shutting down.
You can grieve and still hope.
You can feel and still move forward.
This is what it means to be formed, not just pushed through.
So if you’ve been holding it all together, hear this:
You don’t have to rush this season.
You don’t have to force healing.
You don’t have to carry it alone.
There is a quiet work happening beneath the surface.
Even now.
Even in places you don’t fully understand.
This month is not about quick answers.
It is about staying present with God in the process.
Let Him cover what still hurts.
Let Him care for what still needs healing.
Because waiting is not empty.
Waiting is where God often does His deepest work.

If this speaks to you, we don’t want you to walk through May alone.
Inside the HOPErs Community, we are stepping into this together:
You don’t have to have it all figured out to join.
You just have to be willing to show up.
Before you go, take a moment and ask yourself:
Sit with that.
You don’t have to answer it perfectly.
Just start there.
There is more happening in you than you can see.
And you are not behind.
You are being held, covered, and cared for, right here in this moment.
