Welcome HOPErs!

Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.

With love and expectancy,

You Do Not Need Permission to Care

Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville gathered with women in a peaceful outdoor courtyard, sharing prayer, friendship, and community support during golden hour.

Hey friend,

You do not need permission to care about people.

You do not need a title. You do not need perfect timing. You do not need all the answers. You do not need to wait until someone completely falls apart before offering support.

Sometimes care starts small and early.

A check-in before the crisis. A prayer before the breakdown. A conversation before the loneliness deepens.

And honestly, one of the kindest things we can do is notice people before their pain becomes impossible to hide.

We live in a culture that often teaches people to mind their business, stay detached, keep moving, and avoid emotional inconvenience.

But scripture teaches us to carry one another.

To notice. To love. To respond.

That does not mean trying to rescue everybody. It does not mean overextending yourself until you are exhausted. But it does mean remaining soft enough to care when God places somebody on your heart.

Do not ignore those moments.

Sometimes compassion is God nudging you toward somebody who needs encouragement, support, prayer, or simple human kindness.

And friend, caring deeply is not weakness.

It is evidence that your heart is still alive and available to God.

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” — Proverbs 3:27

Father, help me stay compassionate in a world that often encourages distance. Teach me to notice people and respond with wisdom, kindness, and love. Amen.

Reach out to someone you suddenly thought about today instead of assuming you should wait.

You do not need permission to care — and you do not need permission to be cared for either. HOPErs is a community built for both. Come be with women who are learning to notice, show up, and stay soft together.
