Welcome to Our Blog
Welcome HOPErs!
Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.
With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

One of the quickest ways to become discouraged is to overlook the progress God is already producing in your life.
Many of us have a picture in our minds of where we thought we would be by now. We imagined the prayer would already be answered, the goal would already be accomplished, the relationship would already be healed, or the challenge would already be behind us. When reality doesn’t match our expectations, it’s easy to focus on what remains unfinished.
But God often measures progress differently than we do.
While we focus on outcomes, God is often focused on growth. While we focus on arrival, God is often focused on development. While we focus on what hasn’t changed around us, God is often changing something within us.
Friend, take a moment to look back before you look ahead.
You may not be where you want to be, but are you more patient than you were a year ago? Do you trust God more than you once did? Have you learned lessons you couldn’t have learned any other way?
Progress is not always dramatic. Sometimes it looks like responding differently. Thinking differently. Trusting differently. Praying differently.
Don’t dismiss what God is doing simply because it feels slow.
Progress is still progress. And every faithful step matters.
Stay steady.
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” — Philippians 1:6
Father, thank You for the work You are doing in my life, even when I cannot fully see it. Help me focus less on what is unfinished and more on Your faithfulness throughout the journey. Amen.
Write down three ways you have grown during the last year and thank God for each one.
The HOPErs community is filled with women learning to celebrate progress instead of perfection. We’d love to encourage you as you continue moving forward.
Waiting is never wasted when God is at work.
Love, Dr. Lael
