Tiny Steps, Big Friendships

Hey friends! Ever watched a video and been struck by a simple act? Like in the video below, when the professor called students “friends”? It was a small thing, but it made a huge impact.

Today, let’s talk about extending ourselves spiritually, emotionally, and physically in friendship. It doesn’t always mean grand gestures. It can be tiny steps that make a big difference.

Think about it: When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone to be a friend? Maybe it’s reaching out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, or offering a listening ear when you’d rather be doing something else.

Here’s your challenge:

  1. Intentionality: Grab a pen and paper. Write down three names of people you want to connect with.
  2. Action: Next to each name, jot down a small, intentional action. It could be a text, a coffee date, or even just a quick “thinking of you.”
  3. Out of Comfort: For one person, challenge yourself to do something that feels a little out of your comfort zone. Maybe it’s offering help with a task or sharing something vulnerable.

Just like the professor, you can impact someone’s day with a simple act of friendship. Let’s make those tiny steps today. It’s in those small moments that deep connections are formed.

What tiny step will you take today?

Blessings,

Dr. Melville✨
