The greatest battle you’ll face today may not be around you. It may be within you. The enemy would love for you to define yourself by your failures, your accomplishments, your title, or the pressure you’re carrying. But none of those things determine your identity. Your identity was established the moment you became God’s child.
When we forget who we are in Christ, we begin looking to people, performance, and possessions for our worth. We strive to earn what God has already given us through His love. The good news is that your value has never depended on what you do. It has always been rooted in whose you are.
As you begin this week, remember that you don’t have to prove yourself. You simply need to live from the secure foundation that you are deeply loved, fully known, and completely accepted by God.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
1 John 3:1 (NIV)
Father,
Thank You for calling me Your child. Help me resist the temptation to find my identity in success, approval, or circumstances. Remind me today that I am loved, chosen, and secure in You. Let every decision I make flow from who I am in Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
