One of the greatest thieves of peace is the illusion of control.
Many of us spend hours worrying about situations we cannot change, people we cannot fix, and outcomes we cannot guarantee. We replay conversations. We anticipate problems. We try to manage every possibility before it happens.
The result is often anxiety, frustration, and exhaustion.
Control feels productive, but worry rarely solves what only God can handle.
Friend, there is a difference between responsibility and control.
Responsibility asks us to faithfully do our part.
Control asks us to carry burdens that belong to God.
The challenge is that releasing control requires trust. It requires believing that God can handle what we cannot. It requires accepting that His timing may differ from ours. It requires surrendering outcomes we desperately want to manage ourselves.
This is not easy.
But every time we loosen our grip, we make room for God’s peace.
Ask yourself today: What am I carrying that God never asked me to carry?
Perhaps it is a relationship.
A financial concern.
A family situation.
A future decision.
Whatever it is, place it in His hands.
God is far more capable of carrying it than you are.
Stay steady.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
Father, help me release what I cannot control. Give me wisdom to know what belongs to me and what belongs to You. Replace my worry with trust and my anxiety with peace. Amen.
Write down one worry you have been carrying and surrender it to God in prayer.
The HOPErs community encourages women to trust God with what they cannot control and find peace in His care.
