Many of us spend a great deal of energy trying to hold everything together.
We manage responsibilities, solve problems, care for others, and carry expectations—both our own and those placed on us by others. Over time, it can begin to feel as though everything depends on us.
That kind of pressure is exhausting.
The truth is that God never asked us to carry the weight of perfection. He never asked us to have all the answers, make no mistakes, or control every outcome. What He asks is something much simpler: trust Him.
That is where grace comes in.
Grace reminds us that God’s love is not based on our performance. Grace reminds us that we are not saved by our effort, sustained by our effort, or loved because of our effort. Grace reminds us that God remains faithful even when we are imperfect.
Sometimes we extend grace to everyone except ourselves.
We forgive others while continuing to condemn ourselves. We encourage others while criticizing our own shortcomings. We celebrate the growth of others while focusing on our own failures.
Friend, what would happen if you allowed God’s grace to lead today?
What would change if you stopped trying to earn what God has already given?
You do not have to carry the burden of perfection.
God’s grace is sufficient.
His mercy is new.
His love is steady.
And because of that, you can stay steady too.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
Father, thank You for Your grace. Help me stop striving to earn what You have already freely given. Teach me to walk confidently in Your love and extend the same grace to myself that You extend to me. Amen.
Identify one area where you have been overly critical of yourself and intentionally replace criticism with grace.
The HOPErs community is a place where women learn to walk in grace, extend grace, and receive grace. We’d love to welcome you.
