Welcome HOPErs!

Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.

With love and expectancy,

Discipline Is A Form Of Love

Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville leading an encouraging conversation with women in a peaceful outdoor setting, illustrating faith, community, honest relationships, and emotional healing.

When most people hear the word discipline, they think about rules, restrictions, or consequences. But God’s perspective is often very different. Discipline is one of the ways love shows up in our lives.

Love protects. Love prepares. Love creates healthy boundaries. Love helps us become the people God created us to be.

The truth is that many of the things that protect our peace require discipline. Prayer requires discipline. Rest requires discipline. Healthy relationships require discipline. Keeping our word requires discipline. Managing our time wisely requires discipline. None of those things happen accidentally.

Sometimes we think peace is something we find. Often peace is something we build. We build it through daily choices that align with God’s wisdom. We build it when we choose faith over fear, forgiveness over resentment, and purpose over distraction.

The barriers that interfere with peace are often subtle. Pride convinces us we don’t need help. Resentment keeps us holding on to old wounds. Busyness crowds out what matters most. Emotional walls keep us disconnected from God and others.

God’s discipline is not punishment. It is preparation. It is His loving way of strengthening us for what lies ahead.

Stay steady.

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.” — Hebrews 12:11

Father, help me embrace the discipline that leads to peace. Give me wisdom to develop healthy habits and courage to release anything that keeps me from growing closer to You. Amen.

Choose one habit this week that will strengthen your peace and commit to it.

The HOPErs community is filled with women learning how intentional choices create lasting growth and peace.
