Welcome HOPErs!

Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.

With love and expectancy,

Holding Hurt and Hope at the Same Time

By Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

The holiday season carries a certain glow. Lights go up. Families gather. Traditions return. Yet if we are honest, the beauty often sits right beside a quieter truth. Many of us are carrying hurt into a season that tells us to be merry.

I want you to know something. God is not offended by your ache. He is not asking you to pretend. He is not waiting for you to “get it together” before He draws near. He meets you exactly where you are.

This week in While You Wait Wednesday, we opened up a conversation that most people try to avoid this time of year. We talked about hurt. Not because we want to sit in it, but because Christ does not ignore it. He entered a world full of pain, and He is coming again to make all things new.

That is the heart of Advent. Christ came once. Christ is coming again. In that space, hurt and hope can stand side by side without competing.

The promise is simple. Every quiet prayer you whisper. Every moment when you feel stretched thin. Every place where your heart feels like it could break. God promises to step in with comfort and peace. Isaiah 40:31 tells us that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. That means your hurt does not cancel your hope. Your pain does not silence His promise.

Christ is coming back. And He is coming back for you.

If you need that reminder today, you are not alone. Waiting seasons can feel heavy, especially during the holidays, but there is strength for you. There is joy being rebuilt in you. There is hope rising even if you cannot see it yet.

Take a moment to pause with me. Watch this week’s While You Wait Wednesday video and let these words settle into your spirit. Christ meets you in your waiting, carries your hurt, and renews your strength.
