Welcome HOPErs!

Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.

With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

God’s Care Does Not Change

Three diverse women walking side by side in a calm outdoor setting, representing steady support and consistent care.

There is something in all of us that is waiting for the other shoe to drop.

We’ve been loved by people who eventually pulled back. Supported by people who eventually got tired. Cared for by people who had limits we didn’t know about until we hit them. And without realizing it, we start expecting God to do the same thing.

He doesn’t.

Human care can be beautiful. It can be a real gift. But it is also inconsistent. People get overwhelmed. People grow distant. People have capacity limits and bad days and seasons where they simply don’t have much left to give. That is not a criticism. It is just the reality of being human.

God’s care is not like that.

He does not withdraw when you struggle. He does not grow distant when you are tired or difficult or circling the same thing for the hundredth time. His covering is steady. His presence is sure. Even in the moments when you cannot feel it, He is actively caring for you. Not waiting for you to get it together. Not keeping score. Just present. Just consistent. Just there.

Isaiah 66:13 says: “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.”

That comfort is not conditional. It is not tied to your performance or your progress or how well you showed up this week. It is simply who He is toward you.

This is the kind of care that heals. Not because it is dramatic or loud, but because it does not stop. Consistency does what intensity cannot. And God’s care for you has never once been interrupted.

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.” — Isaiah 66:13

Father, remind me today that Your care does not change. When I feel forgotten, remind me You are present. When I feel like too much, remind me You do not withdraw. Help me trust what is steady even when I cannot feel it. Amen.

Say this out loud at least once today: God is caring for me even now.

Not when things get better. Not when you feel it. Right now. Say it like you mean it, even if you are still getting there.

If this met you somewhere real today, there is a place to keep going.
