While You Wait Wednesday

You were not built to do this by yourself.

I know. I know what you are going to say. You have been doing it by yourself for a long time. You have figured it out. You have handled it. You have carried things that nobody else even knew you were carrying. And you have kept showing up, kept smiling, kept being the strong one.

I see you. And I want you to hear me.

That is not what God designed for you.

This week on the blog we have been walking through what it looks like to be strong and soft at the same time. To stand firm without shutting down. To stay open without breaking. And here is the part a lot of us miss when we talk about strength.

God never meant for you to build it alone.

Think about Naomi for a minute. She lost everything. Her husband. Her sons. Her plans. She told the women in her town not to even call her by her old name anymore, because she felt that empty. And in the middle of all of that, God did not send her a fix.

He sent her a person.

He sent her Ruth.

An unlikely friendship. A faithful presence. A woman who looked at Naomi in her grief and said, where you go, I will go. A woman who chose to stay when nothing about staying made sense.

That is how God covers us. Not always with a breakthrough. Sometimes with a person. A friend who shows up and does not leave. A sister who sits with you in the hard thing without trying to talk you out of it. A woman who chooses you in a season when you cannot even choose yourself.

Psalm 62:8 says, pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us.

And sometimes, God’s refuge looks like the right person sitting beside you.

I recorded this week’s While You Wait Wednesday for the woman who has been doing it alone for too long. The one who has forgotten what it feels like to be covered by community. The one who has been waiting on something to change, and God has been quietly waiting for her to let someone in.

If that is you, I want you to do two things for me.

First, watch this week’s video. It is short. It will not take long. But I believe God has something in it for you.

Second, when you finish, ask yourself who your Ruth has been. The woman who stayed. The friend who covered you. And if a name comes to mind, send her this. Tell her what her staying has meant.

We are not meant to do any of this alone. Not the waiting. Not the strength. Not the soft middle parts. God has people for you. And we, your sisters at While You Wait Ministries, are some of them.

Come walk with us this week. We are saving you a seat.

It is under two minutes. And it just might be the word someone you love needs today, too.
