Welcome HOPErs!
Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.
With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville
Founder, While You Wait Ministries

Strong people get tired too.
The problem is, strong people often know how to keep functioning while exhausted. They know how to smile while overwhelmed. They know how to keep producing while emotionally drained. They know how to show up for everybody else while quietly running low themselves.
And because they still look capable, people assume they are okay.
Maybe that’s you today.
Maybe you are the dependable one. The helper. The fixer. The person everybody calls. The one who keeps things moving when life gets hard.
But even strong people need support.
Needing encouragement does not make you weak. Needing prayer does not make you immature. Needing rest does not make you lazy. Needing community does not mean you are failing.
It means you are human.
I think sometimes we admire strength so much that we forget strength still needs care. Even the strongest trees need water. Even the best leaders need support. Even faithful people need moments where somebody else helps hold the weight.
And honestly, some of you have been carrying emotional loads that nobody around you fully understands.
You are trying to stay hopeful while grieving. Trying to trust God while waiting. Trying to lead while tired. Trying to encourage everybody else while your own heart needs encouragement too.
Friend, hear me clearly today:
God is not disappointed that you need support. He designed you for it.
Support does not cancel your strength.
It helps protect it.
SCRIPTURE
“Encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Father, thank You for seeing both my strength and my exhaustion. Help me receive encouragement without shame and rest without guilt. Amen.
Let someone encourage or help you today without immediately saying, “I’m fine.” Just receive it. That is enough.
If you are the strong one in every room, you already know how rare it is to find a space where you can just exhale. Our HOPErs community is that space. Women who get it, who are holding a lot themselves, and who still show up to carry things together. If you have been needing that, come find us. We would love to have you.
