Welcome HOPErs!
Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.
With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

Hey friend,
One of the most quietly moving moments in the book of Ruth is when Boaz notices her.
He did not have to. She was a foreigner in his field doing her work, staying in her lane, not asking for anything extra. But he looked up and he saw her. He asked about her. He found out who she was and what she had been through. And then he went out of his way to make sure she was protected, provided for, and welcomed.
He told his workers to leave extra grain behind for her on purpose.
He told her to stay close, to eat with them, to drink from their water.
He said, “Do not go to any other field.”
And Ruth’s response was to bow down and ask: “Why have I found such favor in your eyes? I am a foreigner.”
She did not expect to be seen. She did not think she deserved the attention. She was not even sure she should be there.
But he saw her anyway.
Friend, I think some of you are moving through your days like Ruth in that field. Doing what needs to be done. Trying to stay focused. Not asking for too much. Wondering quietly if anyone actually notices the weight you are carrying.
God sees you.
And just like He used Boaz to meet Ruth right where she was, He still uses people to say: I see you. You are welcome here. You do not have to do this alone. Stay close.
Do not be so committed to going unnoticed that you miss the people God sends to take care of you.
Let someone see you today.
Not the polished version. Not the everything-is-fine version.
The real you. The tired you. The one who is still showing up.
She deserves to be seen too.
“May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” — Ruth 2:12
Father, help me let people see me and love me well. Thank You for being a God who notices, who provides, and who sends people into my life with intentional kindness. Amen.
Today’s invitation: Allow yourself to be seen by one safe person today. You do not have to explain everything. Just let them in a little.
