While You Wait Wednesday

While You Wait Wednesday with Dr. Lael

Hi sister, this is your midweek reminder that waiting is never wasted when God is in it.

If you watched the video above, you heard me say something I want to sit with a little longer, because I think it is doing more in your life than you realize.

The lie about strength

Somewhere along the way, most of us were handed a definition of strength that has nothing to do with what God actually says about it. We were taught that strength means doing everything yourself. Carrying the house, the job, the kids, the marriage, the grief, all of it, without ever needing a hand. Don’t ask. Don’t burden anyone. Figure it out.

I want to tell you plainly today. That is not strength. That is a lie we have been carrying so long it started to feel like character.

God never designed you to carry life by yourself.

What He actually asks of us

Scripture does not tell us to manage our burdens quietly and keep them off other people. It tells us to bear one another’s burdens. That word bear is not optional language. It is the design.

That means there are things sitting on you right now, today, that you were never meant to hold alone. Not because you are too weak to hold them. Because you were never built to hold them by yourself in the first place.

Asking is not weakness, it is wisdom

I know what it costs to say the word help out loud. I know the version of you that would rather white knuckle through one more week than admit you cannot do this on your own.

But hear me, sister. Asking for help is not weakness. It is wisdom. It is obedience.

Because when you reach out, you make space for God to move through somebody else. You give Him a way in that He could not get to while you kept the door closed and the sign up that said, I’ve got it.

What if it is one ask away

What if the thing you have been praying for is not on the other side of a miracle, but on the other side of a phone call you have been avoiding. The door you have not knocked on. The text you keep typing and deleting.

Sometimes it really is that simple, and that hard. One step. One ask.

The Word on this

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.

For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow.

But woe to him that is alone when he falleth, for he hath not another to help him up.

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

That is not a suggestion. That is the design.

So today, if you have been carrying something by yourself, I want you to ask. Make the call. Walk through the door. Let somebody in.

Because waiting is never wasted when God is in it.
