Prayer & Perspective

Hey friend,

Not every battle is meant to be fought alone.

Some seasons require support. Prayer. Wise counsel. Community. Encouragement. Accountability. Rest. Reinforcement.

And honestly, one of the most dangerous lies people believe is: “I’ll figure it out by myself.”

Sometimes pride keeps people isolated. Sometimes fear does. Sometimes disappointment does. Sometimes people have been hurt before, so trusting support feels risky.

But trying to carry every burden alone eventually becomes exhausting.

God never promised we would never face hard things. But He consistently reminds us that we do not have to face them unsupported.

Even soldiers understand this principle. Backup matters. Protection matters. Reinforcement matters. No wise person enters every battle assuming they should stand completely alone.

So why do we do that emotionally and spiritually?

Friend, needing support does not mean your faith is weak. Sometimes wisdom looks like recognizing when the weight is too heavy to carry privately.

There are battles where prayer partners matter. Counsel matters. Friendship matters. Therapy matters. Community matters.

And let me say this clearly: getting help does not mean you have stopped trusting God.

Sometimes getting help is how you trust God.

It is saying, “Lord, I believe You can strengthen me, and I will receive the people, wisdom, and support You provide.”

Help is holy because people matter to God.

And there is courage in reaching for support before you completely wear yourself down.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.” — Ecclesiastes 4:12

Father, help me stop believing I must fight every battle alone. Surround me with wise, trustworthy support and give me courage to receive it. Amen.
