Welcome HOPErs!

Hi there, and welcome to While You Wait Ministries. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a breath. Your waiting season is not wasted time—it's a divine classroom where God is preparing you for what's ahead. Here, we gather to remember that hope still works, healing still happens, and you're not waiting alone.
You're right where you're meant to be. Let's wait well together.

With love and expectancy,
Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville

Your Help Is Closer Than You Think

Rev. Dr. Lael C. Melville sits peacefully in a garden courtyard holding a coffee mug beside an open Bible, reminding women that God's help is always near through the July 2 Prayer & Perspective devotional.

Many of us carry more than we were ever meant to carry alone.

We carry responsibilities, expectations, worries, unanswered questions, and burdens no one else can see. Over time, we become so used to the weight that we forget how heavy it is.

The strong ones often struggle here. We become the helper, the encourager, the problem solver, the dependable one. Because we’ve learned to function under pressure, people assume we’re fine.

But God never intended His children to live disconnected from His help.

The enemy wants us to believe we’re alone. God reminds us that we’re not. His wisdom is available. His strength is enough. His peace is within reach.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith isn’t doing more. It’s admitting we need God, asking for His help, and recognizing that our own strength has limits.

Friend, your help is closer than you think.

Before the solution arrives, God is there. Before the answer comes, God is there. Before the burden lifts, God is there.

You do not walk alone.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

Father, thank You for staying near in every season. Show me the burdens I’ve been carrying alone, and give me the courage to place them in Your hands. Remind me throughout this day that Your strength is available whenever mine runs low. Amen.

Set three reminders on your phone today and, when each one sounds, pause and pray: “Lord, help me with what I’m carrying right now.”

The HOPErs community is a place where women discover they don’t have to carry everything alone. We encourage one another, pray for one another, and remind each other where true help comes from.
