There comes a point in almost every season of waiting when the greatest temptation is simply to stop trying. You have prayed, waited, remained faithful, and done what you believed God asked you to do. Yet the answer has not come, the situation has not changed, or the healing is taking longer than you expected. Galatians 6:9 speaks directly to that weary place: “Let us not become weary in doing good.” Scripture does not pretend weariness will never come. God knows there will be moments when you are tired.
The instruction is not never get tired. The instruction is do not let your weariness make you quit. There is a difference. Rest if you need to rest. Cry if you need to cry. Ask God for fresh strength. Let someone help carry the load. But do not walk away from what God has called you to do simply because the journey became difficult. Seeds grow underground before anything appears above the surface. Sometimes God is doing His deepest work during the season when you see the least evidence.
Do not confuse “I cannot see it yet” with “God is not doing it.” Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep doing the next faithful thing. You may be tired, but you are not finished.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Lord,
You know where I am tired and how long I have waited. Give me fresh strength today. Help me know when I need to rest and when I need to keep moving. When I cannot see progress, help me trust that You are still working. Give me grace for today and faith for the next step. I will not let weariness make my decision.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
