Waiting can be difficult because so much of God’s work happens before we can see the evidence. We want movement. We want confirmation. We want to know our prayers are working and our faithfulness matters. But God often develops His greatest work in hidden places. Think about a seed. After it is planted, there is a season when everything important is happening underground. There is no flower and no fruit yet, but roots are forming.
Your waiting season may feel like that. While you are asking God to change your circumstances, He may be strengthening your character. While you are praying for the door to open, He may be preparing you to walk through it. While you are asking Him to hurry, He may be building roots strong enough to sustain what comes next. Do not despise the hidden work of God. Your prayers are not wasted. Your obedience is not wasted.
Your waiting is not wasted. Galatians 6:9 says there is a proper time for the harvest. Your responsibility is faithfulness. God’s responsibility is timing. Keep tending what God told you to plant. The harvest has a time, and God knows exactly when it is.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Lord,
Help me trust You when I cannot see what You are doing. Forgive me for assuming silence means inactivity or delay means denial. Strengthen my faith in the hidden seasons. While I wait for circumstances to change, continue changing me. I believe my prayers matter. I believe my obedience matters. And I believe You are working even when I cannot see it.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
